In Missis Defunctorum non datur benedíctio, sed dicto Requiéscant in pace, dicit: Pláceat tibi, sancta Trínitas; deinde osculato Altari, legit Evangelium sancti Ioannis.
In Masses for the Dead no blessing is given. After Requiéscant in pace the priest says Pláceat tibi, sancta Trínitas, kisses the altar and, if the Last Gospel is to be said, reads the Gospel of Saint John.
