In Missis Defunctorum non datur benedíctio, sed dicto Requiéscant in pace, dicit: Pláceat tibi, sancta Trínitas; deinde osculato Altari, legit Evangelium sancti Ioannis.
In Masses for the Dead no blessing is given: after Requiéscant in pace the priest says the Pláceat tibi, sancta Trínitas at once, and then, having kissed the altar, reads the Gospel of Saint John.
